Dr. Paula Petry has pioneered wellness education for over three decades. Initially, she founded a non-profit organization focusing on parent support and disability advocacy, introducing essential knowledge for future parents. Transitioning to her role as director of training at the University of Miami’s School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, she developed evidence-based training curricula for pediatric residents and healthcare professionals, specializing in empowering practices for children with special healthcare needs.
Following a personal tragedy, Paula embarked on a healing journey, delving into holistic wellness approaches. Her dedication led to receiving a statewide grant to create stress reduction materials for caregivers, and she was later invited to spearhead Florida’s annual statewide women’s summit, focusing on self-care and stress reduction using holistic methods. Evaluations of the summit demonstrate a significant increase in participants’ joyfulness.
